CLOSURE OF THE UNIVERSITY WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT

SUBJECT: CLOSURE OF THE UNIVERSITY WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT

The  University  Senate  in  a Special  meeting held today,  Wednesday,  25^th  September  2024  resolved to suspend the 1^st  Semester  of  2024/2025  Academic Year activities following students' demonstrations outside the University (Gitunduti and One Kilometer area).

THIS  IS  THEREFORE  TO  ANNOUNCE  CLOSURE  OF  THE UNIVERSITY WITH IMMEDIATE  EFFECT

Further,  all students  are advised  as follows:

1. The  First  Semester  of  2024/2025   Academic  Year  activities  are  suspended   effective  today Wednesday,  25^th  September  2024.
2. All students  should  vacate  the University  premises  with  immediate  effect  latest 3:00 pm.
3. All students  residing  in  the University Halls  of Residence   should  vacate  today  Wednesday, 25^th September  2024 latest 3:00pm.
4. Students  residing  in the neighbourhood of the University are advised to seek alternative accommodation until things normalize.
5. Re-opening dates will be communicated  in due course.
